Check back later for information from the Campus Outreach Program. See also Convention Evaluations (, 14K). DateFriday, April 4 - Sunday, April 6, 2003 LocationClarion Hotel Crabtree Directions | Hotel Information | More about Raleigh Special GuestsMary Ellen Smyth, President of the AAUW Educational Foundation, will be our Leader on Loan. She will speak at the luncheon: "Of Skyboxes, Limos, and PhD's: Toward the Foundation of the Future." Even though several other states are having their convention on the same weekend, South Atlantic Regional Director, LaRonnia "Ronnie" Williams will be joining us in Raleigh. Those who know Ronnie know that she'll add a special flair. We are also honored to be able to welcome both top leaders of the AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund: Sylvia Newman, President, and Amy Houghton, Director. [Sylvia is the elected president and head of the board. Amy is the head of the LAF staff.] They will be participating in the Campus Outreach Program on Friday, the LAF breakfast on Saturday and other events as their schedules permit. ProgramSpecial EventsLAF Campus Outreach Program On Friday, April 4, the AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund is sponsoring a campus outreach program at the McKimmon Center of NCSU. While this is not, technically, part of the AAUW NC Convention program, it was scheduled to allow those coming to Raleigh for the Convention to take advantage of this event. More info ... LAF Breakfast On Saturday, April 5, LAF-supported plaintiff Kathy Sokol will speak at a special fundraising breakfast at Convention. Become a sponsor to show your support of LAF. Sponsorship form. Educational Foundation Silent Auction We are very pleased that we have 13 Educational Foundation Fellows in North Carolina for the 2002-2003 academic year. In order to continue support of the Foundation by AAUW NC we will have a Silent Auction at our 2003 Convention to raise funds for our state contribution. We ask that each branch arrange to have 3 or 4 items at the Convention for the Auction. Please encourage individual branch members to send items they may wish to contribute. The baskets of items representative of your branch location seem to be popular auction items. Reports AAUW NC board members who wish to post reports (to streamline the board meeting?), can forward them to shoemaker@acm.org. See reports posted to date... RegistrationRegistration will be $30 until March 13, $35 after that. More info ... Come early/Stay lateTake advantage of all that's going on in Raleigh, bring your friends and family!
