To the Clarion Hotel Crabtree

These instructions use, where possible, a new extension of Edwards Mill Rd. that avoids the congestion on Glenwood Avenue near Crabtree Valley Mall. Note that the hotel's address is Creedmoor Rd. and that Edwards Mill Rd. turns into Creedmoor Rd. with very little indication that the name has changed. [The very short part of Creedmoor Rd. south of US 70/Glenwood Ave. is sometimes called "Creedmoor Rd. Extension". "Creedmoor Rd." most often means NC 50 north of US 70/Glenwood Ave.] The hotel is back from the road, however, it is directly across Creedmoor Rd. (Extension) from the Hechts' entrance to the mall, so use that as a landmark.

From I-40 (east or west):
Take Exit 289 onto Wade Avenue. Take the very first exit onto Edwards Mill Rd. At the end of the ramp, make a left (towards US 70, away from the RBC Center). Stay on this road for 2-3 miles, and when you see Pizza Hut on the right, get in the left-hand lane. At a traffic light near Hecht's (in the Crabtree Valley Mall which will be on your right), make a left into the hotel parking lot.

From the southwest, south and southeast on US 1/US 64, US 401, US 70 or NC 50:
Get on I-40 West (towards Durham and the Raleigh/Durham airport). Go to Exit 289 (Wade Ave.) and follow the directions for I-40.

From the east on US 64/US 264 or north on US 1/US 401 (Capital Boulevard):
Take I-440 North (the outer beltline, US 64 West, US 1 South). After Exit 8, get in the right lane. Take Exit 7 for US 70 North/Glenwood Ave. and Crabtree Valley Mall. Ease over to the left, pass the mall entrances, and turn left onto Creedmoor Rd. Extension. At the first light, make a right into the hotel's driveway. If you pass the Pizza Hut or Steak and Ale, you've gone too far up the hill on Creedmoor/Edwards Mill.

From the north and west on US 70 (Glenwood Ave.)
Follow Glenwood Avenue until you see signs of the mall (ahead on the right) and the intersection with Creedmoor Rd (US 50 North). Turn right onto Creedmoor Rd Extension and right at the first traffic light into the hotel's driveway. [Use this as an alternate route from the airport or west of Durham via I-85 if I-40 is congested.]

From the north on NC 50 (or I-540 exit 9 to NC 50 south):
Follow NC 50, Creedmoor Rd, to Glenwood Ave./US 70. Go straight across Glenwood, and at the next traffic light, make a right into the hotel's driveway.

To the McKimmon Center

All Convention events, including the Legal Advocacy Fund Breakfast on Saturday morning, are at the Clarion Hotel Crabtree. Use these directions ONLY if you are attending the LAF sponsored Campus Outreach program, Friday, April 4, 9:00 - 1:30.

From I-40. Take Gorman Street Exit #295. Turn towards NCSU (left if coming from the west/airport; right if coming from the east) onto Gorman Street. Go approximately 1 mile. The McKimmon Center is on the right past Avent Ferry Rd, before Western Blvd.

From I-440. Take Exit #2A, Western Blvd., towards Raleigh and NCSU. Go less than a mile and turn right onto Gorman St. The McKimmon Center is on the left, on the corner of Western.

From the hotel. Turn right onto Edwards Mill. At Blue Ridge (first major cross street) turn left. Blue Ridge ends at Western - turn left. Go about a mile and turn right onto Gorman. The center is on the left.
