Make your hotel reservation - March 11

The conference rate of $79 is guaranteed only until March 11. Use the online form or return the paper form to the Convention and Visitors Bureau. After March 11, contact the hotel directly - reservations: 877-777-3099 or 336-777-3000

Help Winston-Salem contact life members - March 11

The reception on Friday afternoon will be in honor of life members of the Association and past state presidents. All early arrivers are invited to attend and greet these women and our convention special guests. If any life members in your branch are apt to attend convention, please send their contact information to Anne Hartz, hartz542@bellsouth.net, 336-765-8747 (H), 336-817-5197 (Cell).

Register for the convention - April 6

Save by preregistering with the online or the paper form. After April 6, please plan to register onsite.

Delegation form due - April 6

Branch presidents are asked to return the names of branch delegates using the branch delegation form. Send it to the attention of Winston-Salem branch member Pat Tilley, and be sure to mark "AAUW NC delegation form" on the envelope. If you have questions about delegate status, contact AAUW NC Secretary, Karla Atkinson.

Send in the names for the memorial service - April 6

The memorial service on Sunday morning will remember the AAUW NC members we've lost since the 2006 convention. For planning purposes, the Winston-Salem branch has requested that the names be sent to Hailey Thomas at the Convention and Visitors Bureau, hthomas@wscvb.com, 336-728-4237 by April 6, but names can be added up until the name of the service.

Talk with your branch delegates about AAUW NC business

Check this site for updates to the information for the board meeting (all branch presidents may vote at the board meeting along with elected and appointed AAUW NC officers) and the convention business session. Items to consider by the full convention body include

• Slate of nominees (see Tar Heel News, p5)
• Bylaws changes (see Tar Heel News, p8 and watch for specific language to be posted)
• Candidates for the 2007-2008 nominating committee. Please forward the names of those willing to serve to Nancy.

Prepare a fundraising basket and bring it along!

These baskets will be raffled off to benefit the cause that your branch wants to support. Items in the baskets are limited only by your imagination -- and even the notion of a "basket" is flexible. Just remember that the winner will need to transport it home!

This year, we'll ask you to fill out a card with information about your basket. See the sample card if you want to fill it out early, or wait until you get to Winston-Salem and we'll have extras.
