Ambassador ProgramVolunteers by cluster:
Ambassador packets At the Fall board meeting, Marty Folsom distributed packets to the Ambassadors present and will mail material to the others. The material will include a CD (not ready at the time of the meeting - will be mailed to all) with the PowerPoint presentation (one per ambassador) plus individual packets for branches. Music will not be included with the PowerPoint - was unable to find someone to set our words to music and there are copyright issues in using the music of others for this purpose. The text shown at the summer meeting will be streamlined for more impact. Also included will be a nice announcement/invitation to the 2004 convention, the AAUW 21st Century Recognition program application, instructions for making the presentation, and perhaps some other items. Ambassadors need to ask branches to check at the locations where they meet to obtain use of a laptop or other computer and a liquid crystal projector. The PowerPoint presentation will work with both PC and Mac. I read with interest Nancy's snapshot of ReConnection beginning to present, and Mary Fran's response. If other champions of this program would like to include anything in the packets which ambassadors will take to the branches, let me know. If hardcopies of documents are involved, please provide 25 copies (23 branches, plus a set each for the AAUW NC president and president-elect). Nancy - you asked if we can publish feedback in the Spring issue of THN. That is an outstanding idea. If the ambassadors send the feedback, I will publish it. AAUW NC Recognition ProgramThe only other issue with Face-to-Face is the idea for a state recognition program, sent out to the ReConnection list after the summer meeting. Since it received almost no discussion, I will request this be placed on the agenda for the spring board meeting. Hopefully, it can be presented/announced during convention for the 2004-2005 year (July 1-June 30).
