AAUW-North Carolina State Convention
Asheville
Friday, April 15, 2005
UNC-Asheville Humanities Lecture Hall
1:00 - 3:00

Start your convention Friday, April 15 at UNCA-Humanities Lecture Hall, 1:00-3:00 p.m.! AAUW and UNCA will co-sponsor a panel discussion, "Different Needs, Different Times." The participants are women of various ages, life-experiences, careers and backgrounds. How do they balance families and demanding careers as attorneys, teachers and professors? Listen and discuss with women who have moved into their second careers as activists during retirement. Do these women have common goals? What works for women of different ages, women in different stages of their lives? A discussion by an expert in current women studies will follow.

Dr. William Spellman, one of UNCA's leaders in intergenerational education will provide an introduction to our panel presenters and members. He is a professor of history and Associate Vice Chancellor for academic affairs and programs at UNCA. He received his graduate training at the Maxwell School of Public Affairs, Syracuse University, graduating with a Ph.D. in 1986.
