Overview

At the banquet on Saturday evening, April 16, 2005, several series of awards were presented.

New AAUW NC Award

AAUW NC made three special awards at the convention banquet to recognize and honor the following AAUW NC members. These awardees are of two generations, but the subject area is communication.

Clara B. Allen, Chapel Hill branch, for researching and writing AAUW NC's 75 year history. This well written book tells the story of AAUW NC and it's branches.

Marty Folsom, Statesville branch, for her outstanding work as Editor of the Tar Heel News. In addition, Marty has designed our convention logos and programs for the past two years.

Nancy Shoemaker, Raleigh/Wake County branch, for her design and updating of our 21st century website. Nancy has answered numerous technical questions and taught many of us so much.

Branch recognition

This year the branch recognition will be based on a simple report each branch has been asked to submit. The form is available in two versions:

AAUW NC 100 Club

The AAUW NC 100 Club has two purposes: to raise money for AAUW NC and to honor those individuals across the state who devote significant amounts of time to AAUW. Please see

It's not too early to join for 2005. Send your check, payable to AAUW NC, to
