Information for specific groups
Board meetings
- Saturday, July 15, Sandhills/Southern Pines
Preparation for next board meeting
- Set goals for 2006-2007. Review
21st Century Recognition Program. [SMART goals: Specific, Measurable, Assigned
to someone, Realistic, with a Timeframe.]
- Prepare budget modifications so the board can ensure that the budget matches
the goals (increase fundraising or scale back costs). See draft
06-07 budget that will be discussed on 3/31.
- List of items that will need to be sent directly to branch presidents, so
the administration group can set the schedule and draft table of contents for
mailings to branches. See mailings: Nov.
05, Feb 06
- Prepare to discuss options for changing publication format and schedule of
Tar Heel News (3 issues, 1 online only? Other options?). Branch presidents should
be prepared to discuss their members' views on this. State leaders need to rethink
how they depend on the THN to notify all members.
- Come up with topics to suggest as the theme for the 2007 convention.
- Begin discussion of alternate formats for convention - for 2008? (Friday noon
- Saturday 5:00? every other year?)
- Decide who in each group will prepare the written report - due July 1.
Resources for group communication
Directory of 05-06 leaders is published at members.aauwnc.org/members
(password protected). The 06-07 directory will be published as soon as possible.
See http://news.aauwnc.org for a forum
where you can post items (upload files) and have discussions with other members
in your group.
If you want an e-mail list established for the group, send Nancy
the list of names and e-mail addresses.
For conference calls, www.freeconference.com
is recommended. If anyone in the group needs assistance with the long distance
charges, contact Millie for a calling card
(e.g. onesuite.com 2.4-2.9 cents/min). If you
need "web conferencing," contact Nancy.
