The Impact Grant NC received from the Association was to cover two programs: An Issue Forum on Judicial Appointments and one on Title IX. The Judicial Issue forum was presented at Chapel Hill Law School on February 19. The TitleIX program will be the keynote for convention. It is a panel presentation. Panelists are: Molly Perdue who will cover athletics, Sharon Rouse will cover vocational education and Queen Thompson will cover compliance issues. Mary Peterson will moderate the panel.

AAUW NC, UNC Department of Information Technology, and Cameron Research Institute co-sponsored our first Student Leadership Conference on Friday, March 26. My thanks to the Charlotte Convention Co-Chairs Evelyn Mercer and Marilyn Bissell and the Charlotte branch for hosting the convention.

The Summer Leadership Conference will follow the July 23 Board Meeting in Winston-Salem on Saturday, July 24. A Leader-on-Loan will be attending this meeting. The program committee is looking to have a morning plenary session on health care as it relates to other issues such as a living wage. After an early lunch the afternoon will be devoted to leadership training including time for branch officers to meet with their state counterparts. We promise to have you “on the road” by 2:30pm.
