Branch Notes

From Claire McConnell, Sandhills Southern Pines:
The AAUW Sandhills Southern Pines Branch's  Italian Lunch was served to approximately 70 people at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Four students from the National Honor Society at
Pinecrest High School helped set up and serve the meal.
Donna Gregory told stories about her life as a newsperson from early days at CNN, to several moves in the heartland of the United States, and finally to WRAL-TV and WNCN-TV in Raleigh. She has started a new communications production firm with her husband, as it fits in better with her family life. She advised the younger persons present to take business courses in college along with their major courses, and to develop their management skills to give them more career options as they grow older.

From Gloria Blanton, Raleigh/Wake County:
Those of you who heard Ghazala Sadiq speak about Islam at a fall meeting of the Raleigh/Wake County Branch, and those who read information about her in Tar Heel News, will be interested in knowing that she left in June to visit relatives in her home country. With the India-Pakistan relationship getting more dangerous day by day, I know she would be grateful for your special thoughts at this time.
