Any one who would like to propose a resolution for consideration of the Board of AAUW NC should send a copy of it to me at ejlaney@boone.net, so the Resolutions Committee can consider the resolution in advance. The Resolutions Committee will present the proposed Resolution to the Board at its meeting. Then a member of the proposing group will be invited to speak for it, explaining why it is important.

It is best for a resolution to come from a Branch or a Committee or other group. However, that is not necessary. It is all right for an individual to propose a resolution and it is all right for a resolution to be proposed from lthe floor. A resolutioin that has been discussed by a group of people who agree with the concept and the wording is much more likely to be taken seriously by the Board.
