LEGAL ADVOCACY FUND REPORT/OCTOBER 2002

Total contributions from thirteen branches as of October 20, 2002 were $4,899.50. Goal is $10,000. The deadline for submitting LAF contributions is Dec. 31—but preferably before the holidays. Send all donations to me at 500 Fearrington Post, Pittsboro, NC 27312 and be sure all checks are dated prior to Jan. 2003.

I have written and submitted a Plaintiff Travel Grant with the hope of getting a LAF Plaintiff to speak during a buffet breakfast at our April convention. A fundraiser is required with the appearance of a plaintiff. More details to follow regarding the fundraiser. Notification of our request for a plaintiff should come by early January. I have also been working with the LAF staff to bring a Campus Outreach Program to an area college during convention week.
