Total giving in the US in 1999-2000 $203 Billion

Giving to causes from the greatest amount to the smallest amount:
Religious, Education, Gifts to Foundations, Human Services, Public/Society Benefit

The six C's of Women's Giving:
To: Create, Connect, Commit, Collabrate, Celebrate, Change

Some numbers: AAUW 150,000 members, 1,500 branches, 500 College/University members

AAUW Educational Foundation has become one of the world's largest sources of funding for graduate
women, it conducts ground breaking research, sponsors institutes and symposia.

At present only 1 application out of 10 applications submitted can be funded.

The Educational Foundation encourages undesignated gifts to help meet some necessary expenses at this time.

Giving is very important. It is also vitally important that women develop a plan for their annual giving.
Consider the total amount to be given in a year and determine where the funds should go rather than
just give a few dollars here and a few dollars there.
